How
does Discount Bridal Service work?
Once you make a decision on your dress or dresses, we are here to
work with you. Provide us with the manufacturer's name, style number
and color...or simply tell us which issue and page number the dress
appears in any of the major bridal magazines. We will verify the
style, give you our price, order it on your behalf and have it shipped
directly to you.
What
makes DBS® different from other advertised 800 numbers?
DBS® is the only personal buying service with a network of trained
dealer representatives around the world. We are not an "anonymous"
800 number. We are there--living in your community or somewhere
near you. We do not take merchandise out of stock and pass it off
as a "special order." Everything you purchase through DBS® is
ordered new, just for you. We are the originator of the "personal
buying service" concept and our growth has been made possible by
the thousands of brides who refer our service to their friends.
How
do you get the merchandise at such a low price?
We have no inventory of gowns, permitting us to keep our costs down.
We are therefore able to pass those savings on to you and provide
the individual, personalized service that every bride deserves.
What
is the difference between the savings and services offered by DBS®
versus buying from a warehouse or outlet?
Our dealers work with each customer on an individual basis. You
are the focus of our attention and deserve individualized service.
Other businesses may buy manufacturer's returns, overstocks, imperfect
goods and closeouts or use "false" designer names on goods they
produce themselves. We do none of these things. Our goods are ordered
from nationally advertised bridal manufacturers. All of our discount
percentages are based on suggested retail prices and can be substantiated.

Where
do the dresses come from?
We deal with the same bridal manufacturers and resources as any
other legitimate bridal retailer. We sell only new, first quality
merchandise.
Which
manufacturers and designers are available?
Almost all nationally advertised gowns are available through DBS®.
We do not represent manufacturers whose standards and commitment
to the consumer are questionable or have proven to be unreliable.
How
long will it take for my dress to be delivered?
Delivery times vary by manufacturer and can range anywhere from
6 to more than 30 weeks so don't delay in making your decision.
We prefer to quote conservative delivery estimates and would rather
send perfect garments in a time frame that is reasonable than risk
quoting a date that is unrealistic.
How
do we pay for the merchandise?
All merchandise must be paid in full at the time you place your
order, because it will be shipped directly to you. You may pay with
your Visa or MasterCard, or by check or money order.
What
happens if there is a problem with the merchandise?
All merchandise is received at our Service Center for inspection
before we ship it to you. We carefully inspect each and every garment,
and this inspection time is included in your delivery estimate.
However, should you discover a problem, simply contact the dealer
you placed your order with and the necessary steps will be taken
to make it right for you.
Do
you have a catalog you could send me?
As a buying service, we do not have a catalog. Our lines and products
are always changing so a catalog would almost always be out of date.
We do work with most of the major bridal manufacturers on the market,
so please call if you have questions about a specific designer and
we'll let you know if we work with them and what discounts you can
expect.
What
about alterations?
All alterations are done independently of our service. Michelle's
Wedding Essentials will be happy to provide a list of qualified
and experienced bridal seamstresses in the area, often at costs
much lower than you would find offered at bridal salons.
